Oliver Stone's 9/11 (cont.)

The first trailer for World Trade Center is up and it's pretty good. If anything, the only flaw is that it looks a tad too conventional. Still, I can't imagine he will lapse into movie-of-the week territory. Check out that final shot as the camera pulls all the way out, Contact-style.

This could be the big movie of the summer.

Anyone else notice the Zoolander billboard?

Re: Zoolander, the movie was released on September 28, 2001. Might have been advance billboards on September 11 ...

Regarding the trailer itself, it managed to ruin my interest in the movie (too much Nick Cage with yet another accent he can't pull off, plus it told me way too much about the plot) while leaving me with lots of questions. Such as, "Who are these people in cop-like uniforms Cameron Poe is bussing to the Twin Towers? Are they cops? Port Authority? Firefighters? Mall security? Trainees of some sort? And when Cameron Poe asks for volunteers to go rescue people, how does he get only like two volunteers while the rest of the guys sort of stand around with that embarrassed "please don't call on me" kid-in-math-class look? Wouldn't Cameron Poe have had better luck just asking the same number of random civilian passers-by to go help him save people?"

Who cares about Derek Zoolander anyway? The man has only one look for Christ's sake! Blue Steel? Ferrari? Le Tigra? They're the same face! Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
