I think Ghost Rider was a vanity project. The test ought to be, if you do not read comics do you know who the guy is? Only about 7 super heroes pass this test: Superman, Batman, Spiderman, The Hulk, The Flash, Captain America, Wonder Woman.

At one time (in the 40's, 50's and 60's Captain Marvel might have passed this test. Green Lantern, Aquaman and Wolverine are very close.jjvhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04223110296462634454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-20671618510110334532008-05-03T10:42:00.000-05:002008-05-03T10:42:00.000-05:00dbrooks17–You should still see the movie– it was p...dbrooks17–
You should still see the movie– it was pretty great. I thought this was a new creation just for the movie. Knowing the character has a background, and a comic book one at that, makes me much less excited about seeing the movie.DBrooks17https://www.blogger.com/profile/06407978322410063242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-89298854280234533122008-05-01T13:45:00.000-05:002008-05-01T13:45:00.000-05:00I'd note, too, that several second tier -- and low...I'd note, too, that several second tier -- and lower -- Marvel characters have had television shows. Both Thor and Submariner -- Submariner! -- were the star of cartoons in the late 1960s, early 1970s that I watched in reruns much later. Hulk was the star of a live-action television series in the late 1970s. And, heck, Ghost Rider has already had his own movie. Surely, Iron Man -- a staple since the early days of the Stan Lee era -- is more important in the pantheon than Ghost Rider?Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11937937683432173560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-5029501508745986742008-05-01T11:30:00.000-05:002008-05-01T11:30:00.000-05:00Iron Man was my fave here as a lad, but I agree ab...Iron Man was my fave here as a lad, but I agree about his second-tier status. I keep talking to people about "Iron Man" the movie and they don't know the source material - or what the heck an Iron Man is. That never happens with Spidey or SupermanTotohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03289630876606019727noreply@blogger.com
