This video takes a series of video game genres and traces them from their origins to the latest incarnations. Totally great.
And boy, do I miss "Jordan vs. Bird." Best sports game of all time? Maybe.

Jordan vs Bird was great, but my vote for greatest sports game is Tecmo Bowl.
Jordan vs. Bird was a lot of fun in its day, but it wasn't really even a good game. It was the original sports button-masher. Good nostalgia item, bad game. For best sports game, Earl Weaver Baseball gets my vote.
Props to the video makers for including the funnest Atari game of all time, Combat. Invisible tanks in the invisible maze with bouncing shells: Best. Game level. Ever.
Oh yeah, the invisible tank level was awesome! My friends and I spent a ton of time playing Combat the summer between 5th and 6th grade (when we weren't breaking things with BB guns).
The game's name was One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird, not Jordan vs. Bird. Not that I, uh, am old enough to remember stuff like that...
Jordan vs. Bird was great. But my favorite sports game of all time was Baseball stars. Need a better lineup, go out an pay 'em. That's the major league way. If he beats you with a good closer, get a better starter. If he beats you with a speedy leadoff hitter, go out and get a roided up slugger. And if he sweeps you in five games, well you're gonna have to bid an obscene amount of money to get a Japanese all-star, cause that's the major league way.
You're forgetting Baseball Stars's other crucial life lesson: Women cry when you bean them. But that's ok -- defeating the women by an embarrassing margin is the fastest way to rack up cash quick.
