At the end of Revenge, when Vader is standing on the bridge watching the Death Star being built, you will see an actor made up to look like Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin) standing on the left. That was a great touch. Made my heart pound like it did when I was six and I saw Star Wars for the first time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-1116820707812435672005-05-22T22:58:00.000-05:002005-05-22T22:58:00.000-05:00In ROTJ it is Vader/Anakin who kills the emperor, ...In ROTJ it is Vader/Anakin who kills the emperor, so couldn't one say that the prophecy is fulfilled, it just takes a while and comes after terrible tragedy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-1116597713934502642005-05-20T09:01:00.000-05:002005-05-20T09:01:00.000-05:00I whole heartedly agree with your comment about th...I whole heartedly agree with your comment about the whole movie being cartoonish. One comment I took from the "Extras" DVD from Lucas was that he couldn't do everything he wanted with the first three movies due to the limited technology he had.

I think that was one of the things that made those movies so great! Believeable sets that fit our conception of reality - because they had to be constructed in reality. Everyone knows that reality puts limits on anyone's imagination! Everyone imagines that they can play golf like Tiger Woods, but reality dictates otherwise.

Even Yoda - he has been turned into some caricature(sp?) of his original self with the fight scene with Dooku in the second movie. Lucas just couldn't leave enough alone and turned Yoda into a "Baby Mask"-line jumping bean of fury.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-1116595621848478252005-05-20T08:27:00.000-05:002005-05-20T08:27:00.000-05:00Jonathan, Just read your review and enjoyed it....Jonathan,
Just read your review and enjoyed it. One quibble though. You (and others) have talked about how Anakin was supposed to be the chosen one to save the galaxy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's actually meant to bring balance to the Force. Since the Jedi are in control, "Balance" probably means taking that power away from them. This isn't always bad but I'm always amazed that such (supposedly) smart guys as the Jedi never thought of this angle.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7871003.post-1116588353016648072005-05-20T06:25:00.000-05:002005-05-20T06:25:00.000-05:00Just fyi.
