I hate to be so stuck on politics, but I've been on the road for two weeks at the conventions so it's kind of what's in front of me.
To that end, I've done a little item for First Things trying to explore what it is about Sarah Palin that has so enraged the left, "Why They Hate Her."
Not to worry, though. The Dark Knight will come out on Blu-Ray some time in February and this site will then revert to its previous all-Dark Knight, all-the-time incarnation. I'm sure you're counting down the minutes . . .

More movie stuff please. If I wanted a steady stream of questionable political analysis, I'd head on over to LGF or some such toilet. I told all my geek buddies about your brilliant movie/pop culture blog and then you go all laughing at poor Andy on me. Mr. Sullivan is prone to a little passionate hyperbole, but he's far from alone. The pathological bloggy Palin worship is just as powerfully unhinged but has infinitely less justification. It's all a bit too much, really, on both sides.
I like the break into politics, it's bringing me back to the old glorious Galley Slaves days.
I can never get enough of ripping on Sullivan. He's such a hysterical little twat, keep it up!
Also, who does ex Galley Slave Skinner write for these days?
Nope. I hate her because of her hair and her voice.
Good article, but I'm pretty sure your analysis is a little sideways wrt her religion and family. The left hates and fears Palin for the same reason they hated and feared Clarence Thomas from day one -- she is an existential threat to the liberal myth that strong female leaders are by definition hard core left-wingers. She's also threatening their sacred narrative of the first woman POTUS, which cannot be allowed. To liberals having an unapologetic conservative be the first female President would be akin to Mexico beating us to the moon in 1969. Better to launch a bigoted jihad against the unclean infidel than let that happen.
