Republicans Need Not Apply

I'm hardly a fan of the Bush twins--who strike me as the unpleasant end-product of congenital nepotism--but this story from Gawker is disgusting:

"Freemans tuesday night the 16th of nov. the bush twins along with 2 massive secret service men tried to have dinner they were told by the maitre 'd that they were full and would be for the next 4 years upon hearing the entire restaurant cheered and did a round of shots it was amazing!!!"

Could this be true? I don't want to make too much out of it until we have some confirmation, but imagine if this had happened to Chelsea Clinton or one of the Kerry girls in Utah. But of course you can't imagine that. If Chelsea or the Kerry girls showed up at a restaurant in Utah, they would no doubt be fawned over and treated with respect and decorum.

Only in New York.

Whether true or not, there is a worthwhile message contained in the story; for, even if it isn't true, it so accurately captures the attitude on the left that it is believable. Therein lies its value. The story speaks to an attitude of elitist hatred by the radical leftist pseudo-intellectuals who now populate the hierarchy of the Democrat Party. This type of dogmatic, irrational, in-your-face loathing is a common characteristic of elitist hate-movements, such as White Aryans, Nazis, and KKK. Now, it is becoming a publicly recognizable characteristic of the Democrat Party. It has become so recognizable that when a story is told, such as the one you cite, people don’t doubt it. It is the attitude so eloquently expressed by Michael Moore, George Soros, and MoveOn.org. It is this attitude, vividly dripping with irrational vitriol against President Bush, that frightened normal Americans into reelecting him with the largest popular vote in history. It is this attitude, rank with snobbish superiority, which made most Americans so distrust the Democrats that they awarded the Republicans four new Senate seats and an increase in their margin in the House. It is this attitude, haughty in its disdain for the plain Christian values of America, which led Americans to reject Democrats at the polls. It is this attitude, one that openly derides gun ownership, the most sacred right of free men, which produced a ninety-five percent nationwide victory rate for candidates endorsed by the National Rifle Association. So, let them press on with their nasty ‘tude. If they continue to alienate ordinary Americans, the Democrat Party will join the Federalist, Whig, Free Soil, and Bull Moose parties on the ash heap of history. Until another party emerges that more fairly represents American voters, conservative Republicans will be forced to govern, muddling along without aging Marxist Democrats and their incessant vitriolic carping. Gooooo nasty Dems!
