No Quarter(back)

When I met Joe Gibbs and Mark Brunell some months ago, I instantly recognized the two had a sacred bond. Either in prayer or on the field, there was something about them and their dynamic--one being a Hall of Fame coach and the other recently rated one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. Thus it didn't come as a surprise to me that Brunell would inevitably become the Redskins' starter. And so it was by an act of God that Patrick Ramsey got himself injured last Sunday, opening the way for this divine intervention to take place. Monday Night Football, Washington at Dallas (Cowboys by 6 according to the latest spreads).

I remember listening to Coach Gibbs talk about the importance of faith and that God has a plan for everyone. And I believe he is right. God does have a plan. To destroy the Washington Redskins.

Now THAT is a great post!

Vic Matus is now the enemy of all that is good and the friend of all that is evil. He and JVL have now cemented their bond with satan and his legions of cowboys, eagles, giants, and all other non-redskins nfl team fans. God will not allow the redskins to fail.

Patrick Ramsey got himself injured? I'm not even sure that's a fair description. He's out for about 5 minutes, and Gibbs tells him he's lost the job - after promising him for months that the job was his to lose. If Gibbs weren't a Hall-of-Fame coach, one might almost describe this as erratic.

Still, I don't see this speed bump preventing the Redskins from a well-earned 4 or 5 wins this year.

It's obvious that Danny Boy Synder is killing the Skins and that the game has past Gibbs by faster than his NASCAR auto. Brunnell's ben done for a while.

Nah, it's the Devil's plan, a brew-in-'ell.

Brilliant, Vic.

But, yeah, as Mr. Homnick says, it's clearly the influence of Beelzebub on Mr. Gibbs. As our friend Larry Talbot learned, Even a man who is pure at heart | And says his prayers by night | May become a wolf when the wolf-bane blooms | And the moon is full and bright.

So, what have we learned? Well, it turns out that Gibbs's astonishing achievement of winning three Super Bowls with three different, otherwise indifferent quarterbacks is premised on the fact that he has no idea how to handle the position.

Sigh. Well, at least we've got Sean Taylor, until the courts say otherwise...

The fact that this group gives more than a fleeting rat's ass about the first 1/4 of the NFL season in the midst of a white hot American League playoff race is cause for concern.

I like your site even more now that I know there's a fellow Cowboys fan over here who hates the Redskins almost as much as me.

Everyone knows God hates the Redskins. It's written somewhere in the Bible near the "He loves the Cowboys" part.

Holy Crap! JVL is going to go nuts when he sees that Jenny from Idon'tlikeyouinthatway just posted a comment on his site. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we're 100% sure Jenny is really hot. Although I'm pretty sure Vic Matus is a Skins fan and JVL is probably the #1 Eagles fan around.

Yikes, they're Skins and Eagles fans? I should have read their profiles before I outed myself.

I really am smarter than I look. I promise.

Wow, the Skins did it all with under 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. 2 and 0.
