Forget the Cristal. Stop passing the Courvoisier. Former Ohio State tailback Maurice Clarett has chosen to endorse Grey Goose vodka. And what looks like a lint remover. And yes, what resembles an AK-47 with a modified stock. Can you say sniper? (If there are any gun enthusiasts out there, feel free to correct or clarify.)

It is an AK47, with a special buttstock called a thumbhole stock.
Am I supposed to feel sorry for Clarett? I sort of do. But only the way you feel sorry for a dog as you watch him eat his own puke.
He would have been much better off with Absolut, for it is the drink of my people and leaves a much less violence inducing aftertaste.
Yeah, that's some sort of Kalashnikov. The oddball stock is probably because it was sold during the "assault weapons" ban which largely regulated cosmetic things like what kind of grip and sight the gun had.
You'd have to look at the stampings to be totally positive what kind it is, but Chinese-made versions of the AKM (1960 modernization of the AK of 1947) are fairly popular in the States. I think Norinco makes most of them.
In California, I think you still have to have one of those thumbhole stocks to bring it in the state. See, if it has the regular AK's pistol grip behind the trigger, that cosmetic detail makes it an "assault rifle". But with that fancy little stock it's a "sporting rifle". Otherwise, exactly the same gun.
Probably semi-auto, if they're bothering to comply with those regs.
