So here's what pisses me off: ESPN is running a caption this morning saying, "Think Jersey was pumped Thursday night? The Empire State Building glowed Scarlet red and unbeaten Rutgers rocked third-ranked Louisville 28-25, ruining a Big East national title darling."
So how is it that Rutgers, which is undefeated, has ruined the national title hopes of another undefeated team from the same fucking conference!?!
If you don't love this Rutgers team, then there's something wrong with you. For sobbing out loud, their kicker, Jeremy Ito, is nicknamed "The Judge."

Um, I don't get the question. They undoubtedly ruined Louisville's (the "Big East national title darling" in question here) chance for the national title.
If your question is about whether they ruined the Big East Conference's chances any Big East team in the title game - well yeah too! Louisville had a chance to get to the national title game. Rutgers doesn't - even if they beat WV.
That being said - yes, you've GOT to love this Rutgers team. The only even remotely comparable team I can think of is Northwestern's 1996 Rose Bowl team - but even there, Northwestern had been to the Rose Bowl before.

Puhleeze...
The RU coaching staff and team should be given full credit, but it's not even close to Northwestern '96.
NW has one third of the undergrads just on Rutgers's main campus.
The key: Unlike Rutgers and almost every other 1-A school, NW does not have an alternate-track academic program so good athletes who have no business being in college can stay eligible.
The only other 1-A teams in NW's class are:
Vanderbilt
Duke
Stanford
Navy, Army, and AF.
So Rutgers is a feel good story, but don't go overboard.
