Scheduled for publication this May, Michael Schiefelbein's latest novel, Vampire Transgressions, continues the story of Victor Decimus, a 2,000-year-old vampire struggling to follow the rules for survival: Don't associate with other vampires and, once he's convinced a human to take his place, immediately depart for the "Dark Realm."
But Decimus is in a bind, having fallen in love with his human replacement, whose name happens to be Paul. Yes, according to St. Martin's Press, "the two enjoy an intense life as vampire lovers, living in Georgetown and mingling at their private nightclub where little is forbidden. But their transgression is not taken lightly and agents for the Dark Realm are now on the prowl, looking to enforce the rules and, if necessary, punish Paul and Victor by threatening all that remains precious to them."
Imagine that: Vampires in Georgetown!

Give the Jesuits a week and they'll start justifying vampirism as being in the spirit of Vatican II.
Where's Abe van Helsing when you need him?
AMDG, MF.
brokeblood fountain?
Now there's an idea for a comedy sketch! I can see it now: Jack comes by to pick up Ennis for a "fishing trip", and Ennis's wife tell him Ennis isn't home, and refuses to invite him in, because Jack's not just a gay cowboy, he's a gay cowboy vampire! The scene ends when it's revealed that Ennis is now a werewolf; he staggers in wounded after trying to trying to hump the neighbors' rottweiler, Rex.
Hello, is anyone there? It has been a couple of weeks now. Are you guys still alive?

They finally arrested Last for stalking his Blog-Crush, and the jail has no wi-fi.
I fear that the Slaves have abandoned the Galley.
Spartacus ignited the rebellion and the next thing I know, Jonathan V. Last was drowning the Centurion master in a pot of bean gruel.
Hey guys, an announcement that you've shut down the Galley would be nice, if only to clear up what's going on.
Perhaps I should explain to some folks who might not be in the know, that the Weekly Standard recently had a reader cruise for 8 days at the end of February, and the hosts of this blog were out at sea.
Apparently some sea lag has slowed their return, but I'm sure we'll be hearing from the boys shortly.
