Suck-Up Watch 2

Bill Kristol is cruel enough to reprint John Kerry's 1971 testimony in its entirety.

I suspect that the reason Kerry decided to confront the Swift boat vets head-on was because he preferred a fight with them about his service record to a fight about what he said after he got out of the Navy.

Must be Mr. Billy K. still itching to to kill some kommy vc. Mr. Billy K. could cut-off people's ears, too, if only he knew which way to hold the scissors. Mr. Billy K. could be a winter soldier but he'd need a bigger blanket. Mr. Billy K. would glady die as a...er, for a mistake.

Thankfully, our slowboat vets have prepared the way for Kerry's day of reckoning by so completely tanking their credibility and nicely taking the rest of the flat-earth society with 'em, that Kerry's anti-war activities can be nicely framed as whistle-blowing.

John Kerry bad. OOOh John kerry he bad. John Kerry took my shoe....

The previous comment perfectly illustrates the perils of having a comment board. You migh want to institute a field sobriety test before allowing future users to inveigh.

Thought: John Kerry has been in Washington, where he has a professional staff to propitiate him and treat him as a god, for a very long time. Is it possible that he actually believes that his Vietnam-era behavior was above reproach, and that's why he's flailing so ridiculously now that he's being attacked on it?

I don't understand how anyone could read that and think it is discrediting to him. Are you suggesting his testimony is untrue? Clearly you're not the only ones who feel this way and I consider it my own personal failing that I just don't get it, how this is considered a bad thing by some people.
