Soxblog is talking about how most Democrats are people of goodwill and suggesting that Lieberman and Gephardt be included in Bush's new cabinet. (I suggested the same thing in my Last Word column last week in The Weekly Standard newsletter. I was thinking Lieberman for Homeland Security and Gephardt for Defense. Soxblog goes me one better: Lieberman for State. Can you imagine how meshuggeneh he would drive the Arabs and Europeans? Advantage: Soxblog.)
Just asking: Had Kerry won, do you think prominent lefty bloggers would be talking this way?

I can't believe you said that. Everytime we have reached out to the Left they have tried to cut our hand off. No matter how much goodwill they have, they are still partisians. Including them in the CABINET would be stupid in the extreme. So stupid I can't even be bothered to recite all the times President Bush tried to reach out and got b@@h slapped by these guys.
Hey guys guess what WE WON! Let's get some conciliation and compromise from the Left before we put them in a position to stab us in the back.
Linda "The kettle" says all lefties are partisans, good work there.
Just for the record, as cool (and humbling) as it would be to see someone who is not already firmly in Bush's camp appointed to a cabinet position, I believe it's the exact sort of thing that GWB would never do. If Paul O'Neill couldn't function in that cabinet, I would be amazed if any of these people could. But if I'm wrong about this one, I'll be much happier than if I'm right.
Well Norm Mineta is a democrat...
